The idea for The Cigar Garage (TCG) evolved out of Tab Boyd's growing interest in cigars along with his long-time love of all things racing. Built in the garage behind his house, TCG has acquired quite a collection of memorabilia from both genres, with particular focus on "vintage" and "throwback" elements.
Tab and his friends often convene in The Cigar Garage to share (of course) a cigar and compare notes on their favorites, as well as trade their latest stories from the NASCAR circuit. You see, Boyd is a spotter for the three top series in NASCAR (Camping World Truck, Xfinity and Monster Energy Cup). Many of his "inner circle" also work in various roles in the NASCAR industry, and the guys are known to gather at TCG to celebrate a recent win or accomplishment by someone in the group. A photo of one of these gatherings even made it into The Cigar Aficionado!
Tab and his buddies also take advantage of their frequent travels by visiting a local cigar shops on the race circuit as often as possible. This group has realized that they have more in common than just racing and that many of them share a love for unique cigars as well.
As of today, The Cigar Garage is not open to the public. But the hope is to one day establish a permanent location which can be shared. For now, you can keep up with happenings by checking this website or by following us on Twitter @TheCigarGarage
